Credit Union Robbery Foiled
Three males entered the Federal Express Credit Union last week and removed a security guards weapon from a desk drawer. The tellers bolted into a closet and locked the door before the suspects could stop them. The suspects panicked and fled down the corridor. Unbeknownst to the trio, the security guard had a second gun and began to pursue the perpetrators. Each side fired two rounds at the other, but no one was hit. Finally, the suspects exited the building, jumped into a silver car and bolted the scene before police could be alerted. This was the second incident at the credit union in the last two months.
Aye, Theres the Rug...
Two Persian rugs, valued at over $4,000 apiece, and various tools were stolen from a local auto collision center last Friday. The shops owner had kept the items in a storage building on the property. The thief also grabbed a couple of air bag deployment devices. "These are useless to anyone but another auto collision center," commented Sgt. Al Graham of the air bag accessories. "Perhaps the suspect planned to fence them elsewhere." Sgt. Graham also speculated that the suspect knew in advance that the rugs were on the premises.

The jawbreaker fled before police arrived, though the victim and several other cohorts remained. Officers arrested one of the group on an outstanding warrant and suspicion of cocaine possession. ER
