Celebrity Sighting: John Rzeznik of the Goo Goo Dolls was spotted grabbing a sandwich at Ashley’s Deli, Hermosa Ave, HB. Continuing: Husband and wife duo Simon and Simon play pop and light rock live every Wednesday and Thursday from 7-10pm at Capistrano’s Restaurant, East Imperial Ave, El Segundo. The Eagle Has Landed: Sherrie, my New York girl, formerly of The North End, Hermosa Ave, HB can now be found shaking things up at the private 900 Club, above The Side Door, Manhattan Ave, MB on Wednesday nights and at Bestie’s BBC, Hermosa Ave, HB on Saturday nights for a hip hideaway, loungey type club for locals looking to dance to some great DJ tunes without waiting in line. Check it out soon because once she gets her groove going there will be lines out the door. Hermosa Resto For Sale: Eat At Pete’s Deli, Pier Ave, HB adjacent to the Laundromat. Didn’t they just redo the whole place? See Ya: Bye-bye food court at the Manhattan Village Mall. Sign Of The Apocalypse: Rapper Snoop Dogg has signed with General Motors to produce a luxury hydraulics-loaded Cadillac to be known as Snoopdeville due out next year. I can’t even make this stuff up…

New Additions: Pacific Theatres on Rosecrans in El Segundo, which started out as a drive-in 60 years ago has made some changes in celebration of its fifth anniversary: The theatre now boasts an expanded concession stand with eight cash registers and self serve drinks; new carpet and a new logo in the lobby; and the addition of Pink’s Hot Dog’s to the menu making Pacific Theatres the only location other than the original on Melrose in Hollywood where you can get a Pink’s dog. It seems only natural that the two go together as both are family owned and operated businesses. I can’t really opine on the dog myself because I don’t eat hot dogs period and you won’t get me to the theatre until they install a bar — how can one sit still for two hours without a cocktail?

I’d pay double just to stay away from the mall…

Taco Wednesdays: It’s not all about alliteration, people. Shellback Tavern, Manhattan Beach Boulevard, MB offers $1 tacos and happy hour prices all night on Wednesdays as their winter special. Monday nights with Mele Pennings for MNF afford a $2 appetizer menu, happy hour prices and $2 Bud and Bud Light…

Sports: MJ was out of the line-up Tuesday night’s game due to a sore knee, the first time he’s missed a game because of injury since 1993. Perhaps it has something to do with the lowly Wizards 5-12 record. Maybe it’s his ego and not his knee that’s ailing…
