Senior flu clinic

Cuckoo’s nest

The Mira Costa High School Drama Department presents "One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest." Performance dates and times are Thursday, Nov. 15 and Friday, Nov. 16 at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17 2 p.m. matinee and 7:30 p.m. All shows are held in the MCHS auditorium, 701 S. English Country dance

Come to the First United Church, 1551 El Prado Ave., Torrance for fun and elegant community dances in the English style dating from the 16th century to the present on the first and third Thursday of every month from 8-10 p.m. Live music. All dances taught. Admission $5. Call 793-7499.

A mid-November night’s dream

The drama department of Redondo Union High School is performing William Shakespeare’s "A Midsummer Night’s Dream." Performance dates are Nov. 16 and 17 at 7 p.m. All performances take place at RUHS Auditorium, on the corner of PCH and Diamond St. Tickets are $8 at the door for general admission, $6 for students with an ASB card. Arts and crafts bazaar

Come to the Holiday Arts and Crafts Bazaar Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 17 and 18, at Aviation Parks Girls’ Gymnasium. The event is presented by North Park Senior Citizens Club of Redondo Beach and the City of Redondo Beach. The gym is located behind the Performing Arts Center at Aviation and Manhattan Beach boulevards. Hours are 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m. both days. 318-0650.

Library book sale

The Hermosa Beach Friends of the Library is holding a book sale at 1309 Bard St. (first street west of library). The usual popular categories of hard and paperback fiction, cooking, computer info, newer hard cover fiction and non-fiction will be on hand as well as valuable books and sets. 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. 372-3625.

Organ concert

David Tinoco is performing an organ concert at St. Cross Episcopal Church, 1818 Monterey Blvd., Hermosa Beach beginning at 4 p.m. He will be playing works from J.S. Bach, Franck, Vierne, and Durufle. Harman on terrorism

South Bay Congresswoman Jane Harman is addressing this year’s annual Regional Chamber Breakfast, sponsored by TRW and hosted by the Redondo Beach Chamber of Commerce. Harman is speaking on "terrorism and homeland security." The breakfast is being held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, 300 N. Harbor Drive, RB. Breakfast begins at 7:30 a.m. Chamber members are $16, non-members are $20. For reservations call 376-6911, ext. 0.

Thanksgiving interfaith gathering

The South Bay Interfaith Community is holding its 29th annual Interfaith Thanksgiving Gathering at the American Martyrs Parish Gymnasium in Manhattan Beach. The theme this year is a multi-lingual, multi-cultural and diverse religious expression of peace from many traditions, including Jewish, Christian, and Muslim. The gathering begins at 6:30 p.m. This is a free event, however tickets are required for admission. Tickets can be obtained by calling 546-3667 or 374-4380.

Bikes drive

The Manhattan Beach Community Church’s annual Christmas Bicycle Program continues to collect bikes to be refurbished for local disadvantaged children even as it collects donations for new bikes for the orphans of the firefighters and policemen killed Sept. 11 in New York City. Bikes to be refurbished can be donated to The Bike Shop, 430 Pier Ave., HB. 374-4174.
