The spirit of Liz Turner lives on at the annual "Mama Liz" Thanksgiving Dinner, Musical Concert and Variety Show held every Thanksgiving Day at the Hermosa Kiwanis Hall, 2515 Valley Drive from noon to 4 p.m. Everyone is welcome to feast and celebrate at this free event. Docent training

The Friends of Madrona Marsh is conducting docent training classes on Thursdays beginning today, and continuing on Nov. 8 and 15. Qualifications are an interest in nature, a love for teaching and learning and a willingness to work at the Marsh. 3:30-5 p.m. 3201 Plaza del Amo. 326-2774.

Speaker meeting

Health fair

The city of Redondo Beach Senior and Family Services is offering its annual Health Fair for older adults and adult disabled from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Knob Hill Community Center, 320 Knob Hill Ave., RB. A variety of health screenings and services are offered for those 50 and up, and for disabled adults. 318-0650.

Walk-a-thon fundraiser

In support of the Nurse Practitioner Provider Project, CCNP Region 19 is sponsoring a 5K walk/run fundraiser at Ernie Howlett Park beginning at 8 a.m.. Entry fee is $25. For more information call 287-2952.

Boutique

The 19th annual Country Sampler fundraiser sponsored by St. Lawrence Martyr School takes place today and tomorrow and features over 60 vendors selling unique handcrafted gift item. Hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. both days. 1900 Prospect Ave., RB. 540-0329.
