Girls volleyball tryouts
The ASICS Girl’s Volleyball Club is having tryouts for its 18’s and 16’s teams. The tryouts will be held on Sunday, Oct. 28 from 2-5 p.m. in the South Gym at El Camino College. RB youth basketball
Redondo Beach Youth Basketball’s final registration and player evaluation takes place Sunday, Oct. 28 at Aviation Gym (corner of Aviation and Manhattan Beach boulevards). Bring birth certificate and proof of grade. Tryout times are: 3rd-4th grades 9-11 a.m.; 5th-6th grades 11 a.m.-1 p.m.; and 7th-8th grades 1-3 p.m. 798-RBYB.
SB volleyball club
The 2001 tryouts for the South Bay Volleyball Club for girls 18 and under are Sunday, Oct. 28 from 2-5 p.m. An all age makeup tryout will be held Sunday, Nov. 4 from 10 a.m.-noon. Basketball leagues

Ron Harvey benefit
To help defray the costs resulting from Ron Harvey’s recent bicycling accident a fundraiser is being held at Palos Verdes Bowl, 24600 Crenshaw Blvd., Torrance on Sunday, Oct. 28 from 2-6 p.m. A minimum donation of $25 includes bowling and food. Also being held is a silent and live auction. Funds collected in excess of Ron’s needs go to spinal research. 326-5120.
