Cop Nailed
A burly construction worker who objected to a parking ticket ended up being arrested after assaulting the parking officer, police said. The incident in the 1600 block of 10th Street began when the officer began to issue a parking citation to an illegally parked Ford pickup truck. The owner of the truck became upset, cursed the officer out, and then shoved him, police said. As the officer called for backup, the suspect took off in his truck and was eventually stopped and arrested at the corner of Herrin and 11th Street, police said.
