Up, up, and away

WWII airplanes flown in the movie "Pearl Harbor" are on display at the Museum of Flying, 1772 Donald Douglas Loop North, Santa Monica, 11am-3pm. LeGrande volleyball

The AVA Beach Volleyball Clinic is at the Manhattan Beach Pier on Monday nights, June 4, 17, 18, and 25 for four weeks, and features the pro-beach volleyball star, Lee LeGrande. Register by Friday, June 1st. Space is limited to 20 participants, so sign up early. 395-5097.

Viva la lifeguards

The Manhattan Beach Parks and Recreation Department is looking for qualified individuals to work in the aquatics program at Begg Pool this summer beginning in June. The following positions are being recruited:

Lifeguard/Instructor: Applicants must be 17 years old and posses current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor, Lifeguard CPR, and First Aid cards. Previous lifeguard experience is desirable. The salary is $9.28 per hour.

Lifeguard: Applicants must be 17 years old and posses current American Red Cross certification including Lifeguard CPR, and First Aid cards. Water Safety Instruction certification is highly desirable. The salary is $8.66 per hour.

Cashier/Locker Room Attendant: Applicants must be 16 years old with a good work ethic. The salary is $7.20 per hour. Applications may also be picked up at 1400 Highland Avenue. 802-5256.

English country dancing

There is English Country Dancing the first and third Thursdays of the month, from 8-10pm. and is being held at First United Methodist Church, 1551 El Prado Avenue, Torrance. Admission is $5. 793-7499.
