Police dogs make a play at RUHS
How’d you like a dog telling you to stay?
Police dogs from over from as far away as Texas will compete this weekend in searching, obedience, agility and suspect apprehension at the Redondo Beach Police K-9 Team’s Fifteenth Annual Police Dog Competition. The free event drawing 30 police dog teams will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2001 at the Redondo Union High School Football Field, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
A helicopter will drop in at 11:30 a.m., leaving behind a canine officer who will perform a surprise skit.
Canine officer handlers will be available for questions throughout the day and their dogs will be available for petting. Attendees are promised insight into the canine officer program and the mind of a police dog. The dogs are able to both help the police and be gentle and sociable.ER
