About Town: Redondo Beach

Beachstock part deux

Bob Dylan was the first Bob Dylan, who was billed as the next Woody Guthrie -- at least that’s how the song goes. But Bob Dylan fill-ins, as well as the spitting image (almost) of Santana, The Doors, Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, David Bowie, The Beatles, Journey and more will get down at the Beachstock classic rock festival this weekend at Seaside Lagoon, 200 Portofino way. The groovy train rolls from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, May 5 and Sunday, May 6, with an all-star jam scheduled to run to 8:30 p.m. Admission is $15 at the door and presale tickets are only $12. Children under 12 are free with their parents.

Passports available

Redondo Beach is helping its citizens leave the country. Starting May 14, the City Clerk’s office will be accepting applications for passports at 415 Diamond Street, Redondo Beach, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
