Redondo resident Gerri Alston Meggett walked away from Sony Studios in Culver City with a total of $46,904 in cash and prizes, including a Toyota 4 Runner after winning the final round on the television game show "Wheel of Fortune." Meggett was the grand winner of the show, which aired March 9 on the NBC network.

With the Oscars over, City Hall is making a play for a share of prime time viewers by highlighting a week of government programming. From Monday, April 2 to Saturday, April 7, Redondo residents are encouraged to watch city government meetings and commissions on cable Channel 8, starting with back to back episodes of Redondo Gold highlighting Redondo’s history at 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. followed by the Library commission at 7 p.m. On Tuesday night, the city council meeting will be broadcast starting at 6:30 p.m. On Wednesday, the preservation commission will be broadcast starting at 7 p.m. The Youth Commission will follow the next night at 7 p.m. Saturday morning police news from the three beach cities is played at 10:30 a.m.
