Police Beat: Redondo Beach
Mall maul
Two people were attacked on the 1800 block of Hawthorne Boulevard Sunday, Jan. 21 around 2:30 p.m. by a gang of three men. The three attackers approached the pair, swearing at them before launching a flurry of kicks and punches. Police arrived and arrested a man and the two teenagers suspected of being involved.
Two on one
Two men knocked down a person on the 400 block of N. Pacific Coast Highway, Saturday, Jan. 20 around 10:30 p.m. They punched and kicked the person in the face and body. Police arrested two men in connection with the attack.
Peeping tom
On Friday, Jan. 26, Police officers pursued a prowler who had been seen outside a home on the 700 block of Avenue C twice the day before. Stopping by the house, an officer saw a man looking in a window. He fled as soon as he saw the officer, but his jacket was found at the scene.
Hit and rim
Police were called about 3:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 27 after a woman heard a car crash outside her house on the 1900 block of Mathews. Four parked cars had been hit by an errant driver. Officers found a suspect around the corner from the accident, changing a flat tire.
