Keep the change
A police report stated that a man entered a bank on the 3100 block of N. Sepulveda Boulevard at 4 p.m. on Jan. 19 and showed a teller a note that read, "$50s and $100s only Im not playing." The teller told the man that she only had 10s and 20s and the man told her not to give him any "bait money." The teller told police that she then gave the man $3,700, and the man fled.
Skateboard robbery
Two young men on bikes stole a skateboard from two children on the 1600 block of Manhattan Beach Boulevard on Jan. 20, a police report said. The kids told police that one of the men simulated a weapon in his pocket and swung his fist at one of them. The kids called to a group of people playing basketball at a nearby court, but their calls went unanswered. The men then fled with one of the skateboards, which had a cartoon of a man rolling dice and holding money while a police officer stood in the background eating a donut, according to the report.
Physical graffiti
A resident on the 800 block of Eighth street reported that his garage was vandalized with blue graffiti sometime around 11 p.m. on Jan. 19.
French doors defeated
A police report said that a pry tool was used to "defeat the French doors" of a home on the 700 block of 31st Street on Jan. 19. The culprit(s) made off with over $1,500 in jewelry, according to the report. ER
