Cheer for Children
Help brighten Christmas for an ill or underprivileged child. Bring unwrapped toys to the annual Cheer for Children gift-wrapping party on Thursday, Dec. 21 at Torrance Memorial Hospital, 3330 Lomita Blvd. building 3105. Youll need your own scissors, pens, wrapping paper and tape and leave the guns and war toys at home. Entertainers and volunteers are also needed for parties at a local physically handicapped school Friday, Dec. 22 and at a local hospital Saturday, Dec. 23. Call (310) 540-2494 for more information.

Jam packed with cha cha, salsa, yoga and karate classes, along with beginning English, Norwegian and speed reading lesson, the new South Bay Adult School catalog is out. Run for (their) life
Beach cities Health District is organizing a team to compete in the Vancouver Marathon. The team will raise money for the Wellness community, a cancer support agency in the Beach Cities. The health district will pick up the tab for team members who raise $2,500 in pledges before the marathon. To be a runner or sponsor, call (310) 374-2426 ext. 147. The district is also conducting a study of how Beach Cities residents want their property tax contributions to the district spent.
