Senior Citizen Chanukah party
Chabad of South Bay is holding its annual senior citizen Chanukah party at Beis Rebbe Campus in Lomita. Refreshments and traditional holiday treats will be served. Entertainment will include juggler David Cousin, and the children of the Maimonides Torah Academy singing holiday tunes. 10 a.m. - noon. 326-8234.
Cheer for children
Help wrap toys collected for "Cheer for Children" at Torrance Memorial Medical Center, Building 3105. Please bring pens, scissors, tape and wrapping paper. Toys are welcome (no toy guns or war toys). 3 - 8 p.m. 540-2494.
Chanukah festivities
Chabad of South Bay and the Peninsula Shopping Center are co-hosting a Chanukah Family Festival tonight from 6 - 7:30 p.m. The event will include juggler, David Cousin; a Chanukah workshop to create your own Menorah and sand art creations; Israeli music; warm Latkes; applesauce; and plenty of Chanukah Gelt, Kosher hot dogs and Knishes. Scrooge
The City of Torrance is presenting its 2nd annual youth production of "Scrooge" at the James Armstrong Theatre tonight and tomorrow Dec. 22 at 7 p.m. This is a wonderful adaptation of the Charles Dickens classic tale "A Christmas Carol." All seating is reserved. 781-7171.

Breakfast with Santa

Holiday shuttle service
Torrance Transit is providing the holiday "Shopper's Special" shuttle service between Del Amo Fashion Center along Hawthorne Boulevard and Artesia Boulevard. The "Shopper's Special" operates every Saturday and Sunday from Dec. 2 to Dec. 24 at 9:30 a.m. and runs every hour from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. The service is free to all riders. 618-6266.

A survey conducted by 647 Home Instead Senior Care found that the top gift choice for senior citizens is a large-print calendar highlighting family members' birthdays and anniversaries. Other senior gift preferences are a framed, enlarged favorite family photograph; large-numbered television remote control; gift certificates to grocery stores, pharmacies, favorite restaurants; cordless telephone; assorted greeting cards and stamps; and slippers.
