NFL: This last week of regular season play should prove to be an exciting one at the least. With 12 out of 15 games having playoff implications Im guessing this is what the NFL had in mind when they instituted the salary cap we get two full days of intense play plus Monday night. Who would have thought the Super Bowl champ Rams, who looked invincible through the first six games of the season would be on the brink of elimination, their hopes resting on a win over New Orleans AND the help of the hapless 4-11 "midgets of the midway" Chicago Bears to tie or beat Detroit. Also in the NFC: if you would have told me at the beginning of the year that three out of the first four teams to clinch playoff berths would be the Eagles, Giants and Saints, I would have said, yeah and well toast them at Watermans Grill, Manhattan Ave, MB because I put the same odds on them being open by Christmas. Cant you city inspector people give them a break already? Talk about a bunch of Scrooges. There is no clear fave in the AFC to make it to the Super Bowl with the 12-3 Titans being the closest, although they can still finish second in the conference if they lose to Dallas on Christmas night and Baltimore beats the Jets. No comment about my Cowboys. I havent predicted too much this year but today Im going to say Tennessee vs. Tampa Bay in the Super Bowl. We will discuss this further next week ER
