On Willy, on Flipper…
The ninth annual King Harbor Christmas Boat Parade will sail through Redondo Beach’s King Harbor main channel from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday. This year’s theme is “It’s a Great White Christmas” and the parade will be marshaled by screen great Mickey Rooney. The parade is free but the best seats, from a boat anchored in the harbor, go for $25. Proceeds benefit youth charities. All boaters are invited to enter. Forms are available at marina offices, the Redondo Beach Chamber of Commerce or the King Harbor Yacht Club. Call 376-2459 for more information.
Cheer for children
Donation boxes for the Cheer for Children holiday charity drive are in place at both Redondo Beach fire stations at 401 S. Broadway Ave. and 2400 Grant St., the Redondo Beach Chamber of Commerce at 200 N. Pacific Coast Highway, the SportCenter at King Harbor at 819 N. Harbor Drive, The VCA Silver Spur Animal Hospital at 429 Silver Spur Rd., Mirage at 1709 S Catalina Ave., Aricos Hallmark Shop at 1262 Beryl St., Hair ExSalonce at 800 S. Pacific Coast Highway, and Kids Double Time at 715 Torrance Blvd. Cheer for Children is looking for unwrapped toys, toiletries, toothbrushes and art supplies that will be donated to South Bay children For more information call 540-2494.
