Between 4 p.m. and 8 a.m. on Dec. 2 and 3, an unknown suspect smashed the rear window of a Toyota Camry parked on the 600 block of Ninth Street. No entry was made into the vehicle, nor was any property said to be missing from within.

Take the day off

A group of construction workers arrived at a building on 26th on the morning of Dec. 3. It was reported that a resident rushed to meet them, and informed the group of hardhats that it was illegal to do that sort of work on a Sunday. The police arrived on the scene and said that there was indeed a city ordinance against doing that type of work on a Sunday.

Karma police

Around 8 p.m. on Dec. 1, a person parked a car in a handicap stall in front of a grocery store on Sepulveda Boulevard. When the person returned from inside the store, the car had been stolen, according to a police report.

Backdoor bandits

A Poinsettia Lane resident left his home with his family around 8 a.m. on Nov. 27. Upon returning home at approximately 6 p.m., they discovered all the lights in the house were off except in the master bedroom. The man discovered that one of the rear doors was open and that the lock had been broken off. Over $10,000 in silver tea sets and jewelry were reported stolen. ER
