Roller hockey: Mira Costa upended Torrance, 5-3, in boys roller hockey.

Krikorian had three goals in Mira Costa's 8-7 non league loss to Whittier, the sixth-ranked team in Division III. The Mustangs' received scoring from Chris Drum, Chris Pawlik and Will Didinger.

Football: Coming in to the Redondo football game, Mira Costa was ranked eighth in the area. Michael Okwo had rushed for 459 yards before adding 105 to his total. J.R. Martinez had thrown for 604 yards and six touchdowns, and his favorite receiver, Morgan Ralls, had caught passes for more yards than anybody in the South Bay (454).

Girls volleyball: The Mustangs' beat El Segundo in a Bay League volleyball match, 3-1, after dropping the first set, 15-11. In sweeping the next three games, Costa improved to 8-0 in the league.

Cross country: Mira Costa (1-2) was led by Lynn Dixon, who finished 1:24 ahead of South's McCaul Flack, but it was not enough. South beat the Mustangs' 21-38 in the girls' Bay League meet.

Girls tennis: Mira Costa remained in the Ocean League, beating El Segundo, 13-5, for its eighth league win. Number one singles player Stephanie Manasse shut out all of her opponents. The Mustangs' are 11-1 overall.

Football: Coming in to the Mira Costa football game, the Hawks were ranked second in the area. Eddie Topps had 368 yards in the latest statistics released last week, while Christopher Coleman ranked second in the area with 846 passing yards, good for 7 TDs.

Boys cross country: James Chapman (16:29) led all runners, but Santa Monica placed five in the top 10 to beat the Sea Hawks, 20-41, and North Torrance, 26-30, in a double-dual cross-country meet at Columbia Park...
