Parks & Rec spookfest
The Manhattan Beach Parks & Recreation Department's annual Family Halloween Carnival and Haunted House will be Saturday, Oct. 28 from 1 to 5 p.m. at Manhattan Heights Community Center, 1600 Manhattan Beach Blvd. The event will feature a costume parade, fun house, pumpkin decorating, and game booths. Fair chance at a Honda
The American Martyrs Catholic Church will be hosting its annual parish fair Saturday and Sunday. This popular community event, now in its 30th year, will feature arts and crafts boutiques, a silent auction, and live entertainment. Roundhouse recognizes
The Roundhouse Marine Science Lab celebrated its recent Volunteer Appreciation Night by naming Seth Lawrence and David Lloyd volunteer of the year. Awards of excellence went to Jaimie Calhoun, Jordan Freeman, Katrina Browne, Jean Klaren, Jenny VanHagen, Janet Gundel, and Karen Grahm.
Hooray for ballet!
The Manhattan Beach Performing Arts Studio will host this year's rehearsals for the San Pedro City Ballet's production of "The Nutcracker." Children from the entire South Bay will be able to learn ballet and participate in the production, which takes place at the Marsee Auditorium on Dec. 16 through Dec. 18.
