Rape arrest

A man has been arrested in connection with an alleged rape inside a home on the Strand last Tuesday, police said.

Intrepid theft

Someone waltzed into an unlocked Monterey Boulevard home over the weekend and stole the keys to a Dodge Intrepid, then stole the Intrepid.

Briefs filed

A 30th Street woman reported that someone stole a briefcase from the trunk of her 1999 BMW automobile on Saturday. Inside the briefcase was paperwork related to three lawsuits. "Possibly the paperwork alone was turned in," she wrote in her report. "If so, I need the paperwork."

Checks stolen

Someone stole $16,944 worth of checks from a Pier Avenue business, after the checks had been mailed off for deposit, police said on Saturday. A bank account was then opened fraudulently in the name of the business, and the checks were deposited into that account.

Passport to adventure

A Bakersfield woman was looking for a bathroom inside a Pier Avenue restaurant Tuesday night, Oct. 3 when someone swiped her purse from her table, she reported to police. Missing along with the purse were a US passport, $775 in cash, eyeglasses, jewelry, makeup and a cell phone.

Hit and run

A Redondo Beach motorist reported that her 1999 Isuzu Trooper was struck by another vehicle about 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 4 as she sat waiting in traffic in the area of Pacific Coast Highway and Aviation Boulevard. The motorist who struck her Trooper did not stop, she stated. ER
