No pink cloud
A pink stuffed animal sat in the middle of the garage at a 28th Street home last Monday, offering mute testament to the work of whoever had just ripped the place off.
A resident left the home that morning, and remembered closing the garage door behind her, noting that the stuffed animal was inside, sitting on a box containing a $2,000 computer, police said. When the woman returned, she discovered the stuffed animal sitting in the middle of the garage floor.
Missing were the computer and about $100 worth of tools.

A Redondo Beach man reported that he lost his passport "after a night out at the Hermosa Beach Pier" on Saturday.
Steal my shorts
A Hermosa man reported that someone made off with his stuff while he was in the ocean about 8 p.m. last Monday.
"While swimming in the sea my shorts were stolen," he wrote in a report to police. "In the pocket were my passport and keys."
Identity theft
A Hermosa man reported that someone has been using his Social Security number, driver's license number and other information to buy merchandise and try to open credit card accounts.
"Someone has flagrantly bought things...with my numerical information," the man wrote in a report to police. "I have no leads and feel violated."
A DVD player and a telephone were among the purchases, which have taken place beginning Aug. 3.
Permit gone
A Loma Drive woman kept it short and to the point in reporting the loss of her parking permit while her vehicle sat outside her home Aug. 30.
"Parking pass stolen out of car. Vehicle unlocked," she wrote in a report to police.
What a feeling
Someone broke into a woman's green 1984 Toyota auto as it sat in the municipal parking garage on Hermosa Avenue and stole a flashlight, police said. An attempt was made to steal the car stereo as well, but that failed.
Safety first
Among the items found by Samaritans and turned in to police was a box of Winchester shotgun shells, which were "turned in for destruction," according to a report.
Dancing queen
A woman left her cell phone and purse on the table of a Pier Plaza establishment to make her way to the dance floor about midnight Wednesday before last, and when she returned to the table her stuff was gone, police said. Among the items missing from her purse was about $500 worth of jewelry. ER
