Expansion: Love's, the family resto over on Hawthorne in Torrance, has added a new demention, er, dimension: The Lounge at Love's, located where Don Jose's used to be. With a 200 seat capacity dinning room plus a 150 person capacity lounge, the Lounge has one of the South Bay's largest dance floors. The Lounge at Love's offers Happy Hour from Noon-6 p.m. Monday through Friday - so you can basically have Happy Hour all day as most bars begin their HH's just as TLL's ends. NFL: It's too early to tell how the new MNF team will work out this season: Miller needs to loosen up, Al needs to stop being so damn arrogant. I thought Fouts did a good job and Eric Dickerson on the sidelines was keepin' it real. Further observations from Dennis Miller's try-out this week: First of all, it is obvious that he is a well educated man, but must he throw it in our faces constantly? I mean, I'm not sure how references to the Sword of Damocles and the Tigres and Euphrates are gonna go over with Joe Bozo and the softball team hanging out at the bar, pints in hand. He's a ratings ploy I realize, but it is a shame that the network must turn to gimmicks to try and increase viewership. How about better games? How about NOT changing every team's roster every year? Remember when you followed a team because the same players were there year after year? It was kind of a familial thing. Maybe we should get back to that. Something else I noticed about DM is that, even if he isn't on camera, you can just tell by his voice that he has a smile on his face. I dig that. Speaking of the smile, did you know that chronic smiling actually tricks the brain into thinking you are in a good mood? When you smile or laugh your brain releases serotonin and other feel-good endorphins that lift your spirits. A cure-all for what ails you it isn't, that's what the drugs are for - wait a sec, did I just go off on a tangent? This week pre-season continues with 5 games on Friday and 10 on Saturday including the American Bowl played in Tokyo between Dallas and Atlanta...
