Space invader
A man was waiting for a parking space in the 2600 block of Ocean Avenue on July 16 when a woman standing in the street told him not to park there because her sister was going to take the space. The sister was in the car behind the man. The man parked there anyway, at which time the women stated, "You better watch out. Something might happen to your car," before driving eastbound on 26th Street. When the man returned from the beach less than two hours later, he discovered raw eggs and blue shaving cream adorning his car. The word "Chump" was written on the front passenger window with shaving cream.
Coming to the rescue
Two women had a frightening experience July 13. Just as one fell down while lacing up roller skates on Manhattan Avenue near 30th Street, a BMW pulled up and a man in his 30s asked if she was all right. He then opened the driver's side door to reveal his shorts around his ankles and his hand on his private parts. One woman said the suspect seemed to be "into" what he was doing. The man then drove away, but not before the women recorded his license plate number.

The resident said it was the second time her mailbox had been destroyed in the past three months. A man in the 3200 block of Poinsettia reported that his mailbox went "kaboom!" twice, first on July 4 and again on July 11. And another mailbox fell victim to an M-80 on July 11 in the 600 block of 36th Street.
Wet nabs
A commercial burglary occurred July 9 at Frohoff's Beach House in the 1100 block of Manhattan Avenue. A man jogging by the store at 10:20 a.m. reported seeing three juveniles racing from behind the premises with wetsuits in hand. The store manager said that the boys must have reached between iron bars to snag the five wetsuits, which still had store tags on them.
Was it the dog?
