If you're torn between going out dancing or staying home with a good book next Saturday, the Friends of the Redondo Beach Library may have the perfect compromise. On July 22, they're hosting their 5th Annual Library Dinner Dance on the second floor of the main library. Door prizes, a silent auction and a raffle are planned and a set of tickets for a ride on the Goodyear Airship will be one of the prizes up for grabs. Tickets to the dinner/dance are $15 and are available at the Friends of the Library gift shop in the main library. Call (310) 540-2946 for more information.
Concerts on the pier
Miguel Lee and his Orquestra La Morena play top 40 music with a Latin twist, Thursday, July 13 on the Redondo pier. The Hula Monsters play the pier Saturday, July 15. Grass skirts are optional, but recommended of course. Shows start at 6:30 p.m.

Silky sounds
Catch the South Bay Blues Band on the Food Court Stage as the South Bay Galleria's Jazz concert series continues Monday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. For more info call (310) 540-5253.
Veterans park concerts
The Campbell Brothers will be playing jazz so hot it'll have you running from the kitchen Wednesday, July 19 at the Veterans Park Band shell, starting at 6:30 p.m. For the fourth year in a row you'll be able to howl at the moon when Dogwood Moon takes the stage to play a blend of folk and soft rock. The show starts Wednesday, July 26, at the Veterans Park Bandshell, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Call (310) 937-6607 for more info.
