A German Shepherd dog was coaxed out of a 1991 Isuzu Rodeo on the 1800 block of Hawthorne Boulevard. Whoever did it made off with the pup without leaving a clue as to how they got into the car.
Handset heist
A man’s was talking on his cell phone at the corner of Phelan and Artesia when one of a group of teenage boys ran up and grabbed it from him. The boys took off and were not caught.
Thank you, drive by
A group of five men and women drove up alongside a 1997 Toyota 4-Runner on the 100 block of Ruby. A man got out and smashed a window of the Toyota. The five take off but are later found by the police.
Assault
A group of about seven teenage boys were told to leave private property on the 200 block of S. Francisca. Rather than comply, they responded by beating their victim with fists, feet and skateboards before fleeing.
A/V In/Out
Someone snuck into a residence on the 600 block of S. Catalina and made off with two DVD players, a read-write CD burner, a camcorder and a videogame system with cartridges.
CD burn
A 2000 Mazda 626 was broken into on the 1800 block of Hawthorne. The thief took a laptop computer and case as well as a CD burner. A 1995 Honda Prelude was broken into on the same block two days later. The vandal tried to remove the ignition switch but wasn’t able to finish the job.
Orange crush
A orange 1986 Chevy Camero was broken into on the 2500 block of Nelson. The thief made off with a stereo.
