SEPARATED AT BIRTH? Turning their best
sides toward the camea are Hermosa Realtor Lou Bourgeois and a 40-pound
Dorado he hooked two weeks ago while fishing with David Jones out of the
Los Arcos Hotel in La Paz.

HA HA HAPPY BIRTHDAY: The first night of the Comedy & Magic Clubs month-long 22nd birthday celebration featured heavy hitters Arsenio Hall and Jimmy Brogan, head writer for The Tonight Show. And those were the unannounced drop-ins. The club is putting up 22 comedianstop headliners from around the country--each night throughout July
SHIPS IN THE NIGHT: Seen and heard on the sidewalk outside Whole Foods RB: A gray-haired man with blue jeans and a briefcase is walking along, mumbling in a steady, mechanical monotone. A younger man, the only other person in sight, is walking toward our hero from the opposite direction, and as he draws near he suddenly shouts at him, "Are you going to take my case?!" They pass each other without a further word or glance, and silence descends again upon the blazing afternoon
BRINGING FOLKS TOEGTHER: Disabled athlete and actress Stephani Victor,
who was the subject of a front page ER profile, was reunited with a former
teacher, USC Film School professor Roger Christiansen, after he was jogging
on the Strand in RB one day and tripped over something. He looked down at the
obstacle that had brought him low, which turned out to be a copy of our newspaper,
and found himself staring into the face of his old student. Hmm, we smell a
new marketing strategy for the ER: "If you cant beat em,
trip em."
