Reach for the Sky
Torrance Air Fair 2000 will be held from 10 am — 5 pm at Zamperini Field, Torrance Airport, 3301 Airport Drive. Admission is $5 and children under 5 are free. On-site parking is $3 and free shuttle service is provided for off-site parking. Exciting events include helicopter rides, the Northrop N9M flying wing, jet car vs airplane race, parachuting, and special kids’ activities. 325-6303. To volunteer: 325-7223.

4th c Blessing of the Animals
Wayfarers Chapel at 5755 PV Drive S, at 10 am, will hold its 2nd Annual event for animals, dating back to the fourth century. All animals are welcome, but owners must have their pets on leashes or appropriate carriers. 377-1279.

A Family Night Walk
"Mysteries of the Night" will begin at 8 pm at the George F. Canyon Nature Center. Adults and families with children 5 and older will search for owls, bats and other nocturnal animals. $5 donation per family. To register: 547-0862.

Upstream w/a Calypso Paddle
The sounds of band Upstream’s Reggae, Calypso, Ska and Soca will begin at 5pm at the MB Polliwog Park Amphitheater. The Blackman brothers formed their sound in Trinidad and Tobago, and are said to be one of the most entertaining groups in all of So Cal. Free. 802-5417.
