Attempted Murder

A man was shot on the 400 block of S. Pacific Coast Highway Saturday. He sustained the single gunshot wound about 9 p.m. Four people were arrested for attempted murder in connection with the incident.

Grab and go

A woman tried to leave a store on the 1400 block of Hawthorne Boulevard Sunday without paying for the goods she had tucked into a cloth bag. She was arrested and the merchandise was recovered.

Gone in a flash

Someone broke into a garage on the 2400 block of Nelson over the holiday weekend. They took a camera, flash, tripod, filters, film and a suitcase from a vehicle parked inside.

Change of mind

A burglar broke into a residence on the 2000 block of Carnagie Lane. They removed the window louvers to get inside, and took some items from within. By the time they got outside, the burglar apparently figured it was more trouble than it was worth and left the articles lying in the backyard.

Gotcha!

A house on the 220 block of Perkins Lane was broken into about 3 p.m. Friday afternoon. A man removed the window louvers to get inside the residence, reported police. He got away with his loot. But police later recovered it and arrested a man in connection with the crime.

Twice the trouble

Two garages on the 1300 block of Amethyst were broken into last Wednesday night. Both locks were cut and the garages ransacked. Taken from one of the garages were a helmet and a jackstand. A cell phone was taken from inside a vehicle in the other garage.

Throwing bricks

A man was seen smashing the window of a gray 1992 Toyota pickup with a brick. He took some items from inside the truck's cab and was later arrested.

Discovering a classic

A red 1967 Ford Mustang that was stolen last Thursday was recovered by the Hawthorne Police on Friday. Vintage pony was stolen from the 100 block of W. Torrance Boulevard.
