Police Beat - Redondo Beach

Armed robbery

A woman's purse was snatched on the 1800 block of Hawthorne Boulevard last Friday. A man snuck up behind her and grabbed the purse. He then ran to a waiting car. He and the driver took off. Two men were arrested in connection with the crime.

Armed robbery

A man in a light blue baseball cap and black T-shirt entered a store on the 1800 block of Pacific Coast Highway and flashed a pistol. He demanded money. The victim handed it over and the robber took off.

Five on one

A fight on a public bus spilled out onto the streets last Friday. The victim got into an argument with the five suspects and they got off at the 1800 block of Hawthorne. The two men and three juveniles hit, kicked and cut the victim with an unknown object. The suspects were later arrested.

Breaking things

Someone broke into a store on the 400 block of Pacific Coast Highway with a key or lock picks. They destroyed some merchandise but didn't take anything.

Car and all

Someone broke into a garage on the 500 block of Meyer Lane. They entered the house through an unlocked side door. They grabbed a purse, watch, cigarettes, cordless phone, cell phone and car keys. The suspect then took off in the victim's tan 1997 Toyota Camry.

Double vision

Someone broke into a residence on the 100 block of S. Juanita Avenue. They made off with a pair of binoculars.

Double take

Two garages were broken into on the 400 block of N. Maria Avenue. Someone cut the lock off of each. Lost from the garage that was broken into first was a boogie board, a stereo, a bicycle and sports memorabilia. Lost from the second garage was a go-cart and a 5-ton car jack.
