School Board heads downtown

The Manhattan Beach School Board last Wednesday voted to conduct its future meetings in the City Hall chambers in downtown Manhattan Beach. The Board decided that the City Hall chambers, which already has broadcast capabilities, presented a better venue for televising school board meetings than the school district's cramped boardroom, which would have needed to be wired for cablecasts, possibly at some cost to the district. It was a quality and cost issue, said school superintendent Jerry Davis. The School Board voted last December to televise its meetings.
