The South Bay Tidal Waves, a pick-up team of local ice and roller hockey players, went to the Anaheim Disney Center last month, wearing their roller hockey jersey, and defeated first the California state champions and then the Arizona state champions to win the tournament. The 8- and 9-year-old team members were (left to right) Max Edson, Tyler Maxwell, Gudger Gentzler, Scott Schwartzman, Jeffrey Tainter, Christian Martinez, James Robelotto, Beau Bennett, Jason Torff, Spencer Trotter and Zach Schmoller. The team was coached by Aaron Maxwell and assistant coaches Stu Trotter and Tony Martinez.
