A package suspected to be a bomb closed Sepulveda Boulevard in both directions for three hours Sunday before the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Bomb Squad determined the package to be harmless.
At noon, a citizen called 911 to report a package in the 1900 block of Sepulveda he thought might be a bomb. Police and fire officials inspected the package, determined it to be suspicious and called the bomb squad. Several businesses were evacuated and Sepulveda was closed to traffic between Marine Avenue and Manhattan Beach Boulevard.
The bomb squad blew up the package and determined that it was a movie projector.
Sepulveda re-opened at approximately 3 p.m. ER
