Rick Learned joins Kuykendall's staff
Rick Learned, a financial consultant and member of the Learned Lumber family, has been named beach cities field representative for South Bay Congressman Steve Kuykendall.
Learned will work with local officials and attend events on Kuykendall's behalf.
"I am pleased to have Rick join my staff," the GOP congressman said. "He is a lifelong resident of the South Bay and brings much to this job."
Learned, who lives in Palos Verdes, currently serves on the board of directors of the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club of Palos Verdes Peninsula, sits on the steering committee of Leadership Torrance, and is a Chadwick School trustee.
He is a former president of the Hermosa Beach Chamber of Commerce and former director of the Hermosa Beach Education Foundation.
Learned joined the family lumber business in 1978 and served as director and chief financial officer, then sold his share of the business in 1995 to start his own financial consulting service.
Kuykendall represents California's 36th congressional district stretching from San Pedro to Venice Beach, including LAX, a portion of Los Angeles and Catalina Island. ER
