On Wednesday, Oct. 23, a teenaged suspect approached a person on Vista del Mar and Catalina Ave., forcibly took the person’s iPhone, and fled on foot.
On Tuesday, Oct. 22, a suspect armed with a handgun approached a victim on Hungtington Ln. and Rindge Ln. and demanded money and cell phones. The victim handed over cash, and the suspect — a 17-year-old male, 5’7″ with a thin build — fled on foot.
On Friday, Oct. 18, a male — about 40 years old, 5’8″ and 200 pounds, dressed in women’s clothing — paid for a blouse with a counterfeit $100 at a shop on the 400 block of N. PCH.
Thursday, Oct. 24, a person was arrested for shoplifting from a business on the 1400 block of Hawthorne Blvd. The next day, another person was arrested for doing the same at a building on the 1500 block of Hawthorne. Items stolen in both incidences were recovered.
On Monday, Oct. 28, two male suspects in their 30s entered an open business on the 1400 block of Hawthorne Blvd. and stole alcohol, then exited through the emergency exit. The same day, another male — about 6 feet and 185 lbs. — smashed the window of a business on the 500 block of S. Catalina Ave. and stole cash and cigarettes.
On Wednesday, Oct. 30, a person was arrested for entering an open business on the 1700 block of Hawthorne Blvd. and stealing merchandise. All items were recovered.
Sometime this week, a person entered into Redondo Union High School and stole cash from a desk drawer.
A male person aged about 20 years old, thought to be six feet and 180 pounds, posed as a construction worker and approached a resident of the 300 block of Ave. D on Saturday, Oct. 26. The suspect convinced the victim to accompany him to the backyard, and whilst the resident was distracted, another suspect stole cash from inside the house.
A vehicle was stolen from a parking garage on the 500 block of the Esplanade and whilst the car was recovered, a suitcase and cooler were not.
Two backpacks, a cell phone, and cash were taken from a Jeep on the 1800 block of Hawthorne Blvd. on Monday, Oct. 28; two bicycles were stolen from a parking garage on the 300 block of S. Prospect Ave. the next day.
On Wednesday, Oct. 23, a computer monitor was stolen from inside a Chevrolet van on the 800 block of Serpentine. This week, police received reports of the following stolen vehicles — a 2003 Toyota Camry (G21ACU), stolen from the 2400 block of Graham; a 2002 Mitsubishi that was recovered the same day it was reported missing; a 2000 Honda Accord (4KEH144) from the 2400 block of Robinson St.; a 1995 Acura Integra (5WEL493) form the 2200 block of Harriman Ln.; and a 1992 Ford that was reported stolen on Wednesday, Oct. 23, and recovered on Oct. 29 in Lakewood.
