Golf: Redondo Union High School presents its 6th annual RUHS Sea Hawks Golf Tournament to be held Monday, Nov. 4 at Rio Hondo Golf Club in Downey. Basketball: Basketball fans can celebrate the season-opening game between the Lakers and Clippers while supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month at “Basketball 4 Boobs,” a fundraising event to be held Tuesday at Game Changers, 1220 Hermosa Ave. in Hermosa Beach. Former Clipper head coach Don Casey, whose wife is a breast cancer survivor, will host the event. MTV personality Syrus and other local celebrities will be on hand to raise money for a local breast cancer charity. Pay $10 for a wristband for exclusive drink specials (optional) or participate in the silent auction and raffles. Items include Lakers tickets, Nike basketball shoes, clothing and gear donated by local surf and sport shops, gift certificates for local restaurants and businesses and artwork donated by San Diego artist Al Scholl and signed by South Bay favorite Pennywise.
Baseball: Beach City Baseball Academy is holding its Monday after School Baseball Clinic where batting and fielding skills are emphasized using the academy’s indoor batting facility and outdoor field. This program has a 6:1 coach ratio and is recommended for ages 9 through 11. Time is 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Players can choose the number of classes they wish to attend and can start any Monday. Cycling: The Dave Richardson Race Series, an annual event sponsored by the Redondo Beach-based South Bay Wheelmen, is ongoing with the seventh of 11 races to be held Saturday at 9 a.m. at Paramount Ranch. The eighth and ninth races take place Sunday with time trial at PV Hill at 8:30 a.m. and a criterium race at 12 p.m. on Telo Ave. The races are a mix of criteriums, road races, and time trials.
