Horseback Riding Camp

Redondo Beach
Offered through Redondo’s Parks & Rec, this camp invites kids ages 7 to 12 to spend Monday through Thursday from 1 to 4 p.m. riding and caring for horses at the Portuguese Bend Riding Club stable. Weekly sessions run from June 10 to the end of August. Registration is $350 per student.

SBTC offers weekly tennis instruction sessions for kids in kindergarten to high school. Adventure camp activities for younger kids, at $55 per day or $250 per week, include tennis, soccer, ping pong, basketball, crafts, waterslide, laser tag, face painting and more. The Drop-In Tennis Camp is designed to improve stroke production and provide both a competitive and fun experience, and its advanced Tournament Training/Elite Program for ages 12 and up will run Monday through Friday from 9 to noon.

For children ages 4 to 12, the Adventure Camps are five-day programs that offer the opportunity to explore Terranea through educational and fun activities. These camps are led by the recreation team of Terranea’s Tide Pool Kid’s Club and are open to the public. For children ages 9 to 15, the Junior Golf Camp teaches the fundamentals of golf from Terranea’s PGA Professional and TPI Golf Fitness Professional staff. All camp fees include a daily lunch. Kids from ages 5 to 14 can learn how to ollie, grind and kick flip at the PCH SK8 Camp beginning June 17 at the American Martyrs School’s campus in Manhattan Beach and Ernie Howlett Park in Rolling Hills Estates. Campers can be found passing a “hot potato” in Spanish, rushing to the corners in a Japanese version of “4 corners,” engaging in a scavenger hunt in French or jumping a hopscotch grid in Chinese. This summer camp is an eight-week program through Aug. 23 for kids ages 5 1/2 to 12 at Live Oak Park and Marine Avenue Park. The 2013 Teen Center Summer Camp is a drop-in, non-custodial program open to all resident and non-resident 6th, 7th and 8th graders. Figure Drawing: learn the fundamentals of drawing the human form. 4-6 year old Clay and Paper Sculpture: your favorite characters from books, movies, and TV will be drawn, painted, and/or sculpted in a variety of mediums. Experium Science Academy

Experium’s summer program includes weeklong classes in mornings and afternoons, in addition to eight-week courses in late afternoon and evening.
