The Hermosa Beach Sister City Association has two spots available for their week long trip to Loreto, Baja California Sur, Mexico as part of the Hermosa Beach Sister City Association’s cultural student exchange. The departure date is April 3, and the open spots are available to Hermosa, Redondo or Manhattan Beach students.

“We are in the 11th hour because we’re departing soon.” George Barks said. “We still have space for two more students on the plane.”

The cultural exchange program includes 15 seventh and eight grade students who will live with a Loreto family for seven days while participating in daily chaperoned activities and field trips.

“It’s an opportunity for our students to learn how people live in other cultures,” said Barks. “It’s an opportunity for them to learn Spanish and it’s a form of citizen diplomacy through a people-to-people program.”

In turn, the Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach and Redondo Beach families will host Loreto students during July 12 – 15.
