Redondo Union High School (RUHS) student actors premiered Grease last Friday night, eliciting a standing ovation from a packed auditorium.
RUHS Theater Arts Booster Club President Kristie Greenleaf said drama teacher Justin Baldridge and the students have worked “very hard” over the last four years to completely transform the drama program.
When Baldridge joined RUHS, the program was $7,500 in debt and without a home – the auditorium was being renovated – but it has since become a profitable program that delivers “quality, professional productions,” Greenleaf said.
Three more shows are scheduled for March 21 and 22 at 7 p.m. and March 23 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. For more information, visit www.ruhsdrama.com.

The T-Birds conclude an electric performance of “Greased Lighting.” They are Doody, played by Paolo Ragusa; Roger, played by RJ Ramirez; Sonny, played by Austin Stark; Danny, played by Chris Ward; and Kenickie, played by Alec Johnson.
