Race to Nowhere shows at Manhattan Beach Preschool tonight.
A free screening of the film “Race to Nowhere”, the documentary about stress and other negative health impacts in what the New York Times described as “the overscheduled child” epidemic, will be held at the Manhattan Beach Preschool (1431 15th St., MB) from 6 to 8 p.m. The event is hosted by Linda Sanders, the founder of local non-profit Hope So Bright. “This is an important film that perhaps doesn’t get enough limelight,” Sanders said. “This film inspires me, a mother of young boys who are just starting to pave their way into the education system…We must work together as parents and teachers to drive our children, without the stress, to better prepare them for college and the workplace. By watching this film, parents can better educate themselves and challenge current assumptions on how to best prepare our children. ”
