Signs bring beach close to home- South Bay insignias

Bryce Toney and Genna Boatright know how to recycle. Toney, the owner of “Curious…” in Hermosa Beach, who is also a furniture maker and wood wielder, often found his workshop littered with extra pieces of wood. He didn’t want to waste them, so he brought them to his shop. Boatright knew just what to do with them. She looked around the shop and saw larger beach-themed signs and knew she could do the same thing with the extra pieces of wood. So she began experimenting with stencils and paint and eventually created the perfect South Bay memento. Now, throughout the store, Toney’s extra pieces of wood hang proudly on the walls of the store waiting for somebody to hang creatively designed Beach City names on their beach cottage or far-away home. Signs range from $8 to $25. Curious… is located at 128 Pier Ave, Hermosa Beach and is open from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. seven days a week. Call 310-372-8452.
